Lydia Wells, a lifelong resident of Greenport, New York, brings decades of dedication and leadership to Rotary District 7255. With a career spanning over 40 years in education, Lydia served as a guidance counselor, teacher, and educational consultant, retiring from the Greenport School District in 2014. She holds a BS in Elementary Education from SUNY Fredonia, an MS in Guidance and Counseling from Troy State, and has completed extensive graduate-level coursework. A passionate advocate for youth development, she has held key district roles, including District Interact Chair and District RYLA Chair, and is a proud Paul Harris Society member.
Lydia joined the Greenport Rotary Club in 1999, serving as Club President three times and contributing in various leadership capacities, including Membership and Public Image Chair. Beyond Rotary, Lydia enjoys traveling, reading, and cherishing time with her family, including her two children, four grandchildren, and husband of over 50 years, Richard. Her unwavering commitment to service and community exemplifies the Rotary spirit, inspiring those around her as she prepares to lead District 7255 as Governor in 2025-2026.
